Siroc - A Must-Try Middle-Eastern Restaurant

For the Karachiites looking to step away from the routine offerings of continental, Chinese and fast food, here is something truly unique and exciting for you to try. Located at main E-Street in Clifton, as you enter Siroc, don’t be surprised if you feel like you’ve stepped into a Grecian or Mediterranean space with accents of blue and white covering the entire expanse of the restaurant. The marbled table tops, interlaced cane hanging lights and the true-blue motif wall transport you to an entirely different place altogether coupled with the ambiance music that simply add to the entire experience.

It is indeed very hard to get the Middle-Eastern menu right, from appetizers, main courses down to the dessert and drinks but Siroc nails it all. The Mediterranean Manakish (pide) was a different take on pizza; light, toasty and full of immense flavor while their famous appetizer, Sharwarma loaded fries, could cater to all those who like a kick of saucy and spice and a bit of chicken on the side. One of their other appetizer specialties include Zesty Jawaneh, crispy chicken wing lollipops covered in chef’s special lemon, garlic and coriander sauce. For main course, give Siroc’s mixed grill a go if you want an all-in-one meat, veggie, rice and roti experience. The meat was seasoned and cooked to perfection, bursting with all middle-eastern flavors while the salad, rice, and roti complimented the kebabs, chicken and beef botis.

However, needless to say, the true winner was the dessert, Katayef, which constituted of light and thin Lebanese pancakes filled with whipped cream, crushed pistachios, shaped like dumplings, and drizzled with light sugar-rose syrup. It was hands down one of the best desserts from this cuisine which would be a big mistake not to try if you plan to pay a visit to Siroc soon.
